Bas graduated from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam in 1988, in Private Law and Corporate Law. He was already active in many different fields during his studies. He has been working as an attorney since 1989, focusing in particular on Insolvency law and business law. He likes working together with specialists of other disciplines. After completing the ‘Grotius' training in insolvency law in 1997, he now specialises in insolvency and business law. He also undertakes tutoring on insolvency law - his calm, analytical approach proving to be a great asset to students and clients alike!

Bas is a valuable sparring partner for business owners in a variety of areas. With his keen interest in business matters generally, Bas initiated the Sports and Law Division within the Practice. He is also a member of the Board of Consulegis EESV. Consulegis is an international association of independent law firms, accountants, tax consultants and related professional advisors.

A family man, Bas spends his free time at home on the farm with his wife and four children. Enjoys gardening, horseback riding, good food, good wine and good company.
